Terms and Conditions

1. General

“The Company” means Lawn Gurus. “The Customer” means you, the person buying products or services.

All orders are subject to these Terms & Conditions. No other terms (including customer purchase terms) apply.

By placing an order online or by phone, you agree to these terms and conditions.

2. Ownership of Goods

All goods remain the property of the Company until they have been paid for in full. Once delivered, the goods become your responsibility, even if payment is still outstanding.

3. Product Information

Turf is a natural product, so:

  • Colour, texture, and appearance may vary.
  • Website photos may not match exactly.
  • Sizes and weights are approximate.

Turf deteriorates quickly. You must:

  • Lay it on properly prepared ground.
  • Water it within 6 hours of delivery in dry weather.
  • Understand that weather-related deterioration is not the Company’s responsibility.

Turf may contain:

  • Non-desirable grasses (e.g., Poa annua) — not grounds for refund.
  • Leatherjackets (insect larvae) — they naturally leave and are not grounds for refund.

The Company may change the seed mix used to grow turf without notice. Changes that do not affect suitability for normal use are not grounds for a claim.

Any advice given about suitability is guidance only. You are responsible for ensuring the turf is suitable for your intended use. You may inspect turf at the nursery before ordering.

4. Prices

  • Prices may change until the order is confirmed.
  • Once confirmed, the price is fixed.
  • VAT is charged separately.
  • Delivery and pallet charges apply where relevant.

5. Payment

Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.

6. Complaints

  • Any complaint must be made in writing within 24 of receipt of goods.
  • Photos must be provided to support your complaint.
  • Turf cannot be returned under any circumstances.

7. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates. The Company is not liable for delays outside its control. Do not book landscapers or other services based on estimated delivery times.

Delivery requires:

  • Clear access
  • Hard, flat, level ground
  • Space for an 18–26 tonne vehicle

Deliveries are kerbside only:

  • Drivers use a tail lift and pallet truck.
  • Drivers cannot move goods beyond the kerbside.
  • Someone must be present to accept delivery.

If delivery fails because:

  • Access is unsuitable
  • No one is home
  • Incorrect address details were provided
  • There is nowhere safe to leave the goods

…then turf will deteriorate and cannot be refunded.

Any damage or shortfall must be written on the delivery note at the time of delivery. Signing the delivery note confirms the goods were received in full and in good condition.

If only part of an order can be delivered, these terms still apply to the part delivered.

8. Cancellations & Returns

Turf cannot be cancelled or returned once harvested or dispatched.

For the avoidance of doubt, after harvesting the customer will be charged in full.

Cancellations must be made in writing, via email to sales@lawngurus.co.uk

9. Liability

Once you accept the goods, the Company has no further liability, except for proven defects reported within the required timeframe.

The Company’s liability is limited to replacing defective goods. It does not cover:

  • Consequential loss
  • Costs
  • Damages
  • Loss of business

The Company is not responsible for defects caused by:

  • Improper laying
  • Poor ground preparation
  • Lack of watering
  • Poor maintenance

After delivery, all risks (including third-party claims) pass to you.

10. Order Amendments

  • Orders can only be amended before dispatch.
  • Turf orders cannot be amended once the turf has been cut.

11. Working Days

Working days are Monday–Friday.

12. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • The security and insurance of your equipment.
  • Following all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Moving turf from the kerbside to the laying area.

The Company is not responsible for injury or damage on its premises.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law.
